Welcome to the Blogging Empire Society Wedding!!
In September, Blogging Empire Society is hosting a month long series of posts and a $300 Giveaway on the topic of weddings! We have a couple members who will be going through weddings, whether it be their first wedding, or a vow renewal ceremony! A wedding is a very special time in everyone’s life. Don’t forget to check out the linky below with all the links for information you will need for your wedding!
There is a lot of stuff to do in order to get married. One thing you need to do close to your wedding day is get your marriage license. To do this, you will need to go to a courthouse and apply for one!
You will also need to decide if you are going to keep your middle name that your parents gave you, or are you going to use your maiden name as your new middle name? Will you take your new spouses name or will they take yours? Or will you hyphenate your last name mixed with your husbands last name? These are just some things to think about & discuss with your fiance!
Once you are through your big day, and back home from your amazing honeymoon, if you and your new spouse decided to take one, there are a few places you will need to visit in order to get your name changed legally. You will need to visit the social security office to get a new social security card. (By alerting the social security office about your need for a name change, they will alert the IRS also!) You may or may not need to take your marriage license with you. You will also need original (meaning no photocopies)documents that will prove your age, identity and U.S. citizenship!
You will also want to update your drivers license with your new name! To do this, just visit your local DMV office and make sure you have your marriage license with you!
There are also some other places you may need to make sure you notify! Some just from the top of my head include:
- Your bank.
- Your place of employment
- Insurance Companies
- Student Loans
- Utility Companies.
There are others, I am sure, but as I said, these are just from the top of my head!
Make sure you check out some of the other people who are writing wedding related articles as a part of the BE Society Wedding!
